A bit about the history of Highland Services...

Highland services began in 1979 formed by Maggie Loynd almost by accident during the course of building their own home, Wilf joining her in the business later. The business grew and eventually outgrew their home site in Dervaig and generating the move to Tobermory Main Street.

On the 18^th May 1984 the business became a limited company and traded quite happily on the main street until moving to Balliscate in order to enjoy more space and improve the service to our customers.

The whole idea of the business was to provide a service to the island population, to create jobs and earn a living continuing to invest for the future. In doing this anything and everything we earn on the island supports these aims and the earnings are banked here on the island and not in the home counties of England.

Over the 30 years Wilf and Maggie and their staff have supported numerous local causes and charities with discounted support to many of the village halls. Over the years several of the staff have been volunteer members of the RNLI and on the sporting front the company has enjoyed a long connection with the Mull Rally.

We are grateful for the support that we have enjoyed over the years and continue to invest in the future by the trading arrangements that we have made and enjoyed for 30 years.
